Interactive Design - Definition

INTERACTIVE DESIGN:  Interactive design is the art of facilitating or instigating interactions between humans (or their agents), mediated by products.(1)

In English, this is the process of how designers link applications they have made, to their audience. The aim is to involve and stimulate the viewer as much as possible, to encourage participation in the products key features.
Interactive design users principles such as layout and screen design to promote user-friendliness, as well as engaging the audience. Most interactively designed products have action based responses, meaning that in order to continue with the service, the user needs to define a specific action. This can be as simple as a click of a mouse, to as complicated as solving a puzzle.
